Name: | Rune Spaekona |
---|
In Old Norse, the term "Spaekona" means "seer," or "one who sees." Basically, a sort of prophecy.
I consider myself more like Thoros of Myr than a "prophet." The lucky drunk who says the words. More or less (and without so much booze...usually).
These are my thoughts on my experiences with rune casting, and the Gods, sagas, and lore in general. There may be a rune study tag at some point, this seems as good a home as any for it.
This blog is for me, so if you follow me, don't expect reciprocity. I doubt I'll follow anyone, but if you benefit from what I put here, then great.
Also, while I hate that I have to say this, I'm going to anyway, to make sure it's perfectly clear -- I am not, in any way, shape, or form, affiliated with any folkish/volkish, hate, or white supremacist group that has appropriated Norse paganism/Asatru/Heathenry. While I am proud of my cultural and religious heritage, we are all citizens of Midgard, and as far as I'm concerned, all that matters is that the Gods are given the respect they deserve by those that call themselves Heathen. As Thomas Jefferson so rightfully put it, "religion is a matter which lies solely between Man & his God, that he owes account to none other for his faith or his worship." (See also: my post on the matter.)
I reserve the right to delete any and all comments promoting bigotry, racism, white supremacy or anything else I consider not in line with the above.
